3-21-2018 Round Two: Human Sim of Body Systems

If you didn't do this yesterday: Do Warm Up 211.

Class Activity:  212 Student groups model body systems.

Question: How do molecules from food and air get to the cells in the body?

Class Discussion: We know that cells need oxygen, glucose, and amino acid molecules, and we know that the body gets these molecules from food and air. Now we want to know, how do the glucose, amino acid, and oxygen molecules get transported to every single cell in the body? What do you think?

Assignment to be graded: Model of body systems.

Second Reading:
  • Where does the body get glucose molecules from?
  • Where does the body get amino acids molecules from?
  • Where does the body get oxygen molecules from?
  • What do you think could happen if the human body doesn’t take in one or all of these molecules? Why do you think this?
